Luke 22:3-6
New King James Version (NKJV)
3 Then Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve. 4 So he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them. 5 And they were glad, and agreed to give him money. 6 So he promised and sought opportunity to betray Him to them in the absence of the multitude.
The story of Judas is very familiar among the body of Christ. It is a constant reminder of who betrayed Jesus; and, will forever be remembered that way throughout history. The story of Judas has been taught in a variety of ways in churches. Most times bringing reference to the love of money, because that was the motivation behind Judas's betrayed of Jesus. But, let's look at Judas from another angle. Judas could not have been all that bad, after all Jesus chose him as one of his disciples, and even considered him a friend. Judas walked closely with Jesus, witnessing the signs, wonders and miracles that followed his ministry. Can you imagine being able to sit under the teachings of Jesus while talking with Him daily? Can you imagine walking so closely beside Him that you are able to touch Him? He was the one that possessed the power to cast out demons and heal the sick. Judas had firsthand knowledge of how great Jesus was; but, the devil was still able to corrupt him because the enemy knew money was Judas's weakness.
Your weakness may not be money it could be something else "title", "power" or "position". You must be careful NOT to allow your desire to advance/succeed to lead you into corruption. Anyone one of us could become a Judas.
If Judas can fall victim to the enemy while walking with Jesus, then those of us who know Christ and follow his word could also fall into temptation; and, betray Christ as well. So look at Judas as an example of how NOT to be. "Embracing God" is learning to love the season your life is in. By following the principles and timing God has for your life, you are allowing Him to elevate you into His due season. One moment changed Judas life forever. One moment of compromise could adversely affect your next level in Christ because the very thing Judas compromised his relationship with Christ for, he never got to enjoy. We must embrace the fact that we have to be set apart from others by truly being sold out for Christ!
By any means necessary be the best you, YOU can be!
