I Moved From My Old House
I remember singing this song at my home church in Towson. I loved the tempo, lyrics and unforgettable chorus. The truth of the matter is many of us have not moved from our old house - old mindset, bad habits or willing to change the old life style. Conversion can never fully happen for those who keep their hand on the luggage handle while one foot is planted on "new beginnings"? God is looking for focused, energetic and steadfast servants who can get the job done. Unfortunately, there's far too many crippled with "old issues" that need resolution. Let's call the roll - "Annual Women's Conferences, Women's Workshops, Sister to Sister Retreats, 100 Women in White, Tea and Hat Luncheons, 100 Women in Black, Sister Joy Nights and even Friday night prayer vigils have not erased the "weight" some continue to carry. The Word declares that those who look back while their hands to the plow is unfit to serve (Luke 9:62). Jealousy, it's in the luggage - it creeps up every time that sister visits your church. Unforgiveness, it's in the luggage - haven't seen him in five years but now in a small gathering his cologne triggers a memory which causes anger. Fear, it's in the luggage - opportunity to serve overseas is presented but you feel unworthy. Rage, it's in the luggage - unmentioned during the ceremony and name not printed on the program! If this sounds familiar; perhaps a "luggage check" is in order. My friends, you will never access the things of God until you decide to change your address and get a fresh perspective on who you are and your future in God. "I know the plans I have for you saith the Lord.....Jeremiah 29:11; a plan that won't cause injury, grant you abundance and provide a final destination. We can no longer afford to carry stagnated, unfruitful issues that are turning to dust before us. The Lord makes all things new and wants us to walk and operate in His divine love (II Cor. 5:14-20).
No More Luggage - Release the old and embrace the new in Christ Jesus!
